“Egypt” is one of the most exclusive fragrances created by Albert Fouquet. In 1935, he fulfilled a promise to visit his childhood friend Ahmed—an opportunity that also allowed him to pursue a long-held dream. Fascinated by ancient Egyptian culture, Albert toured the Great Pyramid of Giza, the temples of Luxor and Hatshepsut, and immersed himself in the birthplace of perfumery.
He was eager to learn about the essences used for centuries—those found in the aromatic jars offered to the gods, in the scents that protected the pharaohs, and in the formulas said to enchant Cleopatra herself.
From the moment Albert entered Ahmed’s villa, he was captivated by the lush garden, filled with flowers he had never encountered before. Overwhelmed by new sensations and unable to extend his stay, he planned a return trip four months later with the sole intention of crafting a unique perfume.
After weeks of work at Ahmed’s villa and final refinements back at his château in Paris, “Egypt” was born—an addition to his private, exclusive collection. Today, it is our pleasure to share one of Albert Fouquet’s most original creations with those fortunate enough to embrace his singular lifestyle.
