Fields and reeds

Fields and Reeds is a fragrance reminiscent of a countryside stroll at the end of summer, just as the wheat is about to be harvested.

Mimosa bathes the composition in its amber-gold radiance, much like the late-afternoon sun.

This reflects a key creative approach at Indices Parfums: ingredients are not chosen solely for their literal meaning, but for their evocative power — sometimes for the colour they suggest, sometimes as a narrative thread, an emotional touch, or a component of the imagined landscape.

For Fields and Reeds, we sought to convey the slightly melancholic joy of wandering through open fields, in harmony with nature and the shifting seasons. Carrot seed adds a bright, shimmering nuance that supports the scene’s light while also symbolising natural cycles; its scent brings a gentle softness to the landscape. Woody and resinous notes — amyris and benzoin — lend greater substance to the setting, grounding it with an earthy dimension. They echo the tactile sense of authenticity one feels when walking along dusty paths, feeling the sun’s warmth on the skin, and sensing fine particles of pollen drifting through the air
